Merry Christmas Again

Yes we managed to survive the Christmas Day shenanigans, but we both had a little trouble with our hair and with our eyesight...

Seasons Greetings to all.

Merry Christmas Everyone

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all and sundry. Here's a pic of Stephen and I wearing mum's fab Christmas lights on our heads because we are very fashionable.

This was at a pre-Christmas luncheon Stephen and Fran put on for a bunch of Aussies most of whom will be away travelling on Christmas day itself. We've got some photos of this magnificent event in the site.

Kikoman man says 'Take that Shoyu!'

You'll never look at that little fish-shaped plastic container of Kikoman soy sauce hiding under the fake plastic grass in your sushi box the same way again. Check this out.

And what's with the loincloth??

No more visitors. We're out of room on the photo tree...

We're running out of room on the visitors photo tree thingy that is on our mantlepiece.

This is most of the people who've stayed with us since we moved to London, but there are still a few of you who escaped without leaving us a pic. We know who you are. Don't think you'll get away with it...

West Hampstead going to the dogs

Look how classy our neighborhood is becoming.

Usually you just get push bikes chained to posts with their wheels kicked in by bored or drunk vandals.

This takes that process just a little bit further. This is on our street just about 20 meters from our front door.

I think it used to be a Vespa.

More proof that the UK rail service sucks

I had to go to Sheffield for the day yesterday for a meeting, and I can't believe what they charged me for a day return train ticket: £99.00.

That is unbelievable. It only takes about 2 1/2 hours to get there on the train. And it wasn't a fancy shiny new express one neither. Just some old rattler...

Finally got the better of the UK Parcel Force system. They've been holding a care parcel hostage that Jamie and Robyn sent us ages ago. We've been pleading with them to deliver it to our local post office, and finally, they actually did.

Picked it up on Saturday. And it is a doozy! One cardboard beer case box crammed to the gunnels with Vegemite, Chicos, Violet Crumbles, Tim Tams, Twisties, Natural snakes. We are in hog heaven.

Thanks guys!

Hannie Rayson gets a guernsey in London! She was awarded an honorary degree (doctorate I think) at the same LaTrobe awards ceremony where Philippa was awarded her Masters.

I guess we'll have to go and see it now.
